About the Event
Energy bills are through the roof and are set to increase in the next month. Energy companies continue to make obscene profits whilst so many of us struggle to pay the bills. We are living through heat waves and flooding and still burning the fossil fuels that are changing our climate.
This energy crisis is a global crisis. Should things be different? What power do we have to make a difference?
As part of the Climate Action Leeds programme, we are hosting conversations across the city to find out what YOU want and need from your energy providers and what possibilities are available to you to take back control of your energy.
We are hosting events across the city on the following dates with:
- Thursday 13th October 6pm - 8.30pm - Online
- Thursday 10th November 4pm - 6.30pm - Hyde Park Book Club (27-29 Headingley Lane, Leeds, LS6 1BL)
- Thursday 17th November: 6pm - 8.30pm - Leeds West Indian Centre (10 Laycock Pl, Leeds LS7 3AJ)
We believe everyone should have access to affordable green energy and everyone should have more control of their energy system.
We want to explore, with you, what an alternative could look like and how it could respond to your needs.
These events will hopefully help us to find the light in it all. There is action that can happen. We want people to leave with a sense of hope and possibility.
Everyone welcome
We have a limited number of childcare or travel bursaries to support those to attend where care responsibilities or finance may be a barrier. Please do not hesitate to get in touch to find out how we can support you to be a part of the conversation.
All we ask is that you:
- Come with an open mind
- Respect and honour difference of experience, knowledge and opinion.
- Listen well
Teas, coffees and light refreshments.
