About the Event

CAA are hosting a workshop at New Wortley Community Centre about creative activism - it's a thorough four-part workshop about how and why storytelling is an effective tool to communicate the climate crisis.

Hosted by Ilze Millere from Beatside:

"Stories shape the way we think, act, and view the world. Stories inspire us, expand our minds, and introduce us to new perspectives. By learning to embrace storytelling as a form of activism, we can find ways to connect with people, spread a message that a greener world is possible, and inspire change."

From looking at human psychology and why stories are an essential tool to communicate and comprehend the climate crisis, to exploring green ways of making art, this is a workshop about becoming a creative activist. Structured in four parts and featuring interactive discussions and inspiring facts and perspectives, this workshop will introduce you to the WHY and the HOW of art as activism.

This workshop is beginner-friendly, suited for artists and activists, educators and communicators, leaders and dreamers, and everyone in between. Free food will be provided!
